UNB well represented at the Roger Neilson Special 25th Anniversary Coaching Clinic.

The University of New Brunswick was well represented at the 25th special anniversary of the Roger Neilson Coaching Clinic held in Windsor Ontario, June 8-10.
Initially organized by the late legendary hockey coach Roger Neilson, the clinic is well known throughout the hockey world as the number one coaching clinic for updated coaching information and hockey contacts.
Organized now by Marshall Starkman, the clinic has upwards of 300 participants ranging from the NHL to minor hockey coaches. Head Coach Gardiner MacDougall of UNB as back for his second time as a presenter with his topic “Making a Positive Significant Difference” which included an excellent tribute to Neilson. MacDougall has attended the conference on a number of occasions and was also a guest presenter in 2000.
Popular UNB Kinesiology Professor and well known Sport Psychologist Dr. David Scott was also a key presenter making his sixth appearance at the Neilson Symposium. Scott, who also works for the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL, topic was “Going from a Good Coach to a Great Coach.”
Former UNB coach and former NHL coach Don MacAdam was also part of the NHL coaching panel for the Friday night “Hot Stove” discussion. The legendary UNB alumni also had a display on his Power Edge Pro training system.
The clinic featured 14 presenters including 10 with NHL backgrounds.
