Women's Soccer Re-Cap
The Women started their season with a 0-0 game against the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) Panthers, and a 1-1 tie with the Saint Xavier X-Women.
Brianna Ford scored the only goal for UNB this weekend in minute 26 of their game against St. FX, taking an early lead.
Unfortunately the women were unable to keep their lead and St. FX scored late in the game.
With the only goal for UNB and playing strong throughout the game, Brianna Ford can easily be seen as Player of the Game.
"She gets herself in a good spot and gets lots of shots … she's strong, she's fast, she's physical, she's one of the toughest in this lead to mark," said Head Coach Jon Crossland.
"It's a really good group of girls and with so many veterans I think it makes it easier for the first years to come in and feel like they're a part of it," Ford says about her time so far this season.
"A lot of positive feedback and bonding has been going on, so it's good."
Ford and her Lady Red teammates take on Mount Allison on Saturday the 14th at home and play the Université de Moncton at home the following Sunday.
