Boston Meet 'Bests' For Reds
(BOSTON, Mass.) Members of the UNB Reds men’s track and field team are celebrating numerous personal and season bests after competing at the recent Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic.
Braden Harrison registered a season best 22.01 seconds in the men’s 200 metres.
In the same event, Ben Edwards ran a personal best 23.94 seconds.
Eric Hughes equaled his Reds record in the men’s 60 metre hurdles, running in 8.80 seconds.
Tyler Adams put up a new personal best in the men’s 800 metres, with a time of 1:59.45.
In the distance events, Bradley McMullin logged a new personal best in the men’s 1000 metres, running in a time 2:44.46. McMullin is currently ranked 8th in Atlantic University Sport.
In the men’s 3000 metres, Michael Colford ran a season best 8:38.36. He’s currently ranked 2nd in the event in AUS. Isaac Cull ran a personal best 8:39.46, and Dawson Nancekievill also put up a new personal best, in 8:52.65.
“It was a good meet for our men,” said Reds head coach Chris Belof. “This was a great chance for us to gauge ourselves against some strong competition on a very fast track. It was great to see all the athletes rise to the occasion.”
In the men’s shot put, Jarod Manuel had a put of 13.97 metres.
In the weight throw, he registered 14.41 metres.
“We’ll be looking for more in the coming weeks as we compete at the Athletics New Brunswick Indoor Championships and the SMU Open, in Halifax.”
