Jan. 18, 2014 (St. John's NL) After being upset by Memorial on Saturday, the UNB Varsity Reds responded by beating the Sea-Hawks 86-69 in AUS men's basketball on Sunday. The Varsity Reds were limited to eight active players due to injuries.

Javon Masters led UNB with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals in the win. Jordan Irvine ignited the Varsity Reds offense with 15 points, all from three-point distance, while adding 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Vasilije Curcic had a big game for Memorial in the loss with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Curcic shot a tidy 12 -13 from the floor. Caleb Gould added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the Sea-Hawks.

UNB improved to 8-3 with the win.

Memorial now sits 1-9 on the season.
