HEAD COACH – BARRY MORRISON

Barry Morrison has been head coach of the REDS for two seasons, including his first competitive season in 2021, after being hired in May of 2020.

What was to have been his first competitive season, 2020, was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Before becoming head coach, he'd served seven years as an assistant coach.

As part of an agreement between the REDS and the Fredericton District Soccer Association, Morrison added the role of head coach of UNB’s men’s team to his job as the club’s head coach, a job he’s held for more than eight years.

Morrison began his coaching career in 1999, quickly progressing through the FDSA ranks.

On two separate occasions, in 2005 and again in 2007, he served as an assistant with UNB’s women’s soccer team.

He took over the FDSA’s head coaching job in March of 2012, and joined the Reds men’s team in 2013.

He's qualified as a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Master Learning Facilitator, a Chartered Professional Coach, he's a National Coaching Institute graduate with a diploma in Coaching High Performance Sport, and has worked 13 years as a full-time coach and coach educator.

Barry is the chair of New Brunswick's Physical Literacy Coalition and president of the Fredericton Toboggan Club. It's worth noting that he was a member of the fastest Canadian two-man and four-man teams at the 2019 US Toboggan Championships.

Barry is married and lives in Devon. His wife, Meghan, is a rugby coach and NCCP Learning Facilitator.
