(SACKVILLE, NB) The UNB REDS rode a pair of second half goals to a 2-0 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday night in Sackville, NB.

Luke Rosettani (Ottawa, ON) and Keji Adeniyi (London, UK) found the back of the net to lead the REDS in the win over the Mounties.

"Tonight was a strong performance from our group," said UNB head coach Barry Morrison. "Mount A are a well-organized team that are hard to breakdown. We came on well in the second half and were able to find a way through."

Rosettani not only scored the game-winning goal but also played a pivotal role in setting up Adeniyi's goal, earning him the title of Player of the Game.

"Luke had another strong performance," said Morrison "He is a constant danger when we have the ball, he created chances for both himself and others in helping us find the win. "

The opening half saw both teams locked in a tense battle, resulting in a 0-0 tie at the halfway mark. However, the REDS established their dominance early on by controlling possession.

UNB's best chance of the first half came in the 39th minute when a free kick from Rosettani was headed home by Lars Gierull (Ottawa, ON). Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed as the ball didn't clear the Mounties' defensive wall.

In the 41st minute, the REDS had another chance off a corner by Alex Oprea (Winnipeg, MB). The kick was headed just wide of the net by Rosettani and the rebound found its way to Olivier Menard (Ottawa, ON), whose shot sailed just over the crossbar, preserving the 0-0 score.

Returning from halftime, the REDS continued their relentless offensive pressure and ball control.

Their persistence paid off in the 62nd minute when a corner kick found its way to Rosettani, who headed it home, giving the REDS a 1-0 lead.

Rosettani had a chance to extend UNB's lead when he was sent on a breakaway, but Mounties' keeper Artie Fotheringham (London, UK) made an exceptional save, tipping the ball over the net.

The insurance marker for the REDS came in the 80th minute when Adeniyi bypassed a Mountie defender and Fotheringham to place the ball into the open net for the 2-0 lead.

With the win, UNB boasts a record of 5-2-2, solidifying their hold third place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

The REDS will conclude regular season play with home games on October 20th and 21st, when they'll host the Cape Breton Capers and STFX X-Men. Kickoff times are set for 7:15 pm and 5:15, respectively, at UNB's BMO Centre.
