Reds Score 2-1 Win In Moncton

(MONCTON, NB) The UNB Reds rode a pair of second period goals to a 2-1 win over les Aigles Bleues, in Moncton, on Friday night.

Katherine Chadwick (Kanata, ON) scored at 5:26 of the second, and Ashley Stratton (Mount Pearl, NL) added the Reds second goal at 12:22.

Pascale Lebeau (Louiseville, QC) scored for Moncton mid-way through the third period, but Hailey Martens (Ladysmith, BC) stopped 16 of 17 shots to earn the win in the UNB net.

The Reds, now 9-and-4, are winners of five of their last six games, and sit in third place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

Moncton falls to 2-10-and-1, tied for seventh.

The Reds are in Halifax on Saturday afternoon to face the first place Saint Mary's Huskies. Game time is 3:00pm.
