Under Cotter's guidance, FHS teams won 29 New Brunswick high school championships, 14 boys and 15 girls, with a combined record of 1346 wins and 186 losses.

Head Coach on Basketball NB teams on numerous occasions.

Played for UNB's men's basketball team from 1964 through 1967, winning an Atlantic conference championship in 1967.
