(QUEBEC CITY, QC) The UNB REDS ran to third place team finishes in both the women's and men's competition at the 2022 AUS-RSEQ Interlock Cross Country meet, in Quebec City on Saturday.

"It was a good step for both our women and men, being on the podium," said REDS head coach Chris Belof. "Both groups executed the race plan very well."

"It was a fun day," he added. "The last time we were here for this event, in 2017, we got beat pretty bad."

The host Laval Rouge et Or won both team competitions, and Laval runners took the top spots in the individual competitions.

UNB's Jared Howse earned a podium finish in the men's 8K event, finishing third, the top Atlantic University Sport competitor.

"Jared ran very well," said Belof.

William Boyle and Mitchell Kean ran 16th and 17th respectively in the field of 112.

Ivy Bialowas was the top REDS runner in the women's event, crossing the line in fifth place. Like Howse, she too was the top AUS finisher.

"Ivy had a strong performance in a very strong field," said Belof.

Sierra Rodrigues was 15th, Georgia Bernhard was 17th and Hilary Bishop ran to an 18th place finish.

The REDS now prepare for the AUS Championships, at UPEI, on October 29th.
