(ST. JOHN'S, NL) The UNB Varsity Reds completed a weekend sweep of the Memorial Sea-Hawks, winning Sunday's match 3-0.
Memorial and UNB traded points throughout the first set, but the Varsity Reds were too much for the Sea-Hawks, finishing with a 25-21 victory.
The Sea-Hawks jumped out to an early second set lead behind some great play by Cody Harvey. He scored back-to-back kills and back-to-back blocks to give the Sea-Hawks a 6-5 advantage.
UNB would battle back to take the lead and eventually win, 25-18.
Eivind Anderson, who registered 5 kills, led UNB in the set.
The VReds were able to finish off the Sea-Hawks in the third set and complete the sweep.
Anderson finished with a game high 15 kills, to go along with 2 aces, 7 digs, and 16.5 points. Matthew Losier finished with 32 assists, 8 digs, and 3.5 points.
Cody Harvey finished the day with 4 kills, 4 blocks and 6 points to lead Memorial.
The Sea-Hawks travel to Halifax next weekend to take on the Dalhousie Tigers, while UNB has the weekend off.
