REDS Shut-Out Aigles Bleus

(MONCTON, NB) Austen Keating (Guelph, ON) scored a pair of power-play goals to lead the UNB REDS in a 3-0 win over les Aigles Bleus, in Moncton, on Friday night.

The win strengthens UNB's hold on first place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

The REDS are now 16-2-0-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) and have already clinched a playoff spot.

Keating scored at the 14:40 mark of the first period and again late in the second, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

Emmett Sproule (Collingwood, ON) scored the REDS other goal in his UNB debut.

Samuel Richard (Ste. Catherine, QC) stopped 22 shots for the shut-out as the REDS ran their current win streak to three games.

Etienne Montpetit (Valleyfield, QC) faced 49 shots in the Moncton net.

The Aigles Bleus have now dropped five in a row.

The REDS were 2-for-6 with the man advantage while Moncton went 0-for-8 on the power-play, including a 5-on-3 advantage.

The REDS return home and will host the UPEI Panthers on Saturday. Game time is 7:00pm.

Moncton will host STFX on Friday in a scheduled 7:00pm start.
