VReds Blank Tigers
(HALIFAX, NS) The UNB Varsity Reds beat the Dalhousie Tigers 2-0, in AUS men's hockey action Friday night.
Both goalies played well in the low scoring affair, as Alex Dubeau recorded his second consecutive shut-out for the Varsity Reds and Corbin Boes stopped 40 of the 41 shots he faced in the Dalhousie net.

It looked as though the game would go scoreless until Chris Clapperton broke the deadlock, with just over five minutes remaining in the third period. Clapperton fired a shot from the faceoff circle, beating Boes.

Dylan Willick added an empty net goal in the dying seconds.

Dalhousie had no trouble keeping up with the Varsity Reds, who have had their way with the Tigers so far this season. The game looked as though it could go either way.

Cameron Brace, who leads the Varsity Reds in points, had a penalty shot in the third period, but could not beat Boes.

Dalhousie has now suffered six straight losses.

UNB is trending in the opposite direction, having won four straight conference games.

The VReds are back in action on Saturday, at St. FX. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:00PM.
