The UNB Varsity Reds men’s basketball program is pleased to announce that Mark Matheson of Three Oaks Senior High School, Prince Edward Island will be joining the squad for the upcoming 2012-2013 season.

The 6’4” Summerside native led Three Oaks to the PEI provincial high school title.  In the PEI High School championship playoffs he averaged 33 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals.  He will suit up this summer for the PEI provincial team for their trip to Nationals in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
 
Coach Baker is definitely happy that Matheson will be joining the program. “Mark is the type of student athlete that we are looking for at UNB. He is an honors student, a leader in the classroom and on the court. His basketball I.Q. , work ethic and  enthusiasm for the game makes him a very valuable addition to our program.”
