2019-20 AUS Winter Schedules Released

(FREDERICTON, NB) The defending national and Atlantic University Sport champion UNB Reds will open the 2019-2020 men’s hockey season on the road.

The Reds will begin defence of their conference and Canadian titles when they visit the Saint Mary’s Huskies on Friday, September 27th, in the first AUS regular season game to be played at Saint Mary’s new arena, the Dauphinee Centre.

The Reds first home game will be played Friday, October 11th, at 7:00pm, against Moncton.

UNB’s women’s hockey team opens their 2019-2020 campaign on Friday, October 4th, at 7:00pm, when they host the UPEI Panthers.

That will be a re-match of their 2018-19 season first round playoff series, one the Reds swept 2-0.

The dates were revealed in the release of the 2019-2020 Atlantic University Sport winter sport schedules.

The Reds men’s and women’s basketball teams open their seasons on the road, with a pair of games at Memorial, on November 2ndand 3rd.

The following weekend, UNB plays its home openers, hosting Acadia on November 8thand 9th.

The Reds women’s volleyball team, AUS finalists in 2018-19, kick off their new season with a home-and-home series against Moncton.

UNB will visit les Aigles Bleues on Friday, October 25th, before hosting Moncton on Sunday, October 27th, at 1:00pm.

AUS swimming returns to the Sir Max Aitken Pool in 2019, as the Reds host the first meet of the season.

The Amby Legere Invitational is set for October 19thand 20th.

And the Reds will host the 2020 Subway AUS Track and Field Championships, February 21stand 22nd, in Saint John.

It will mark the first time in 39 years that the conference championships will be hosted outside of Moncton, and by a school other than l’Universite de Moncton.

All AUS regular season and postseason games will be webcast at AUStv.ca powered by Bell Aliant. Select games will be broadcast live on Bell Aliant’s Fibe TV and tv1.
