Jenna MacLean, of the women’s hockey team, is the UNB REDS/Papa John’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week.
The fourth-year defender played critical roles in a pair of weekend wins.
In Saturday’s 3-1 win over Dalhousie, MacLean set up a crucial insurance goal in the third period of a close game.
In Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Mount Allison, she scored her first goal of the season in her final regular season game on the Aitken Centre ice.
“Jenna played a solid 60 minutes in both games this weekend,” said REDS’ head coach Sarah Hilworth. “She’s found a nice offensive touch in this second half.”
MacLean and her teammates finish their regular season schedule with games at Mount Allison and UPEI on Wednesday and Friday.
