(MONCTON, NB) The UNB Reds opened the 2019-20 Atlantic University Sport season with a 3-0 win over l'Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues.

The Reds won 25-23, 25-17 and 25-18.

Adora Rooyakkers (Port Hawkesbury, NS) led the UNB effort with 10 kills and 12 digs, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

There were bright spots for the home team, but the Reds dominated throughout.

Pascale Doiron (Dieppe, NB) had seven kills and nine digs for les Aigles Bleues.

"I am not happy with the result, we have to learn to win," said Moncton head coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll. "UNB has a solid team, but we can play much better."

The same teams meet again on Sunday, in UNB's home opener.

First serve is scheduled for 1:00pm, at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.
