(HALIFAX, NS) On the third and final day of the 2022 Kemp-Fry Invitational, the third meet on the 2022-23 Atlantic University Sport swim schedule, the host Dalhousie Tigers men's and women's swimmers claimed top spot in the team standings.
The UNB REDS finished fourth in both women's and men's competitions.
The REDS were led by Jennifer Moore and Ethan Nestoruk, who recorded second place finishes. Moore in the women's 100m freestyle. Nestoruk in the men's 50m breaststroke.
Craig Bush swam to a third place finish in the men's 100m freestyle, finishing 5/10ths of a second out of first place.
Blake Kingston swam to fourth place finishes in the men's 200m individual medley and 200m breaststroke.
On the women's side, Hannah Casey won the 'B Final' in the women's 200m butterfly, in a time, 2:27.13, that would've been good for third place in the 'A Final.'
In the women's 50m butterfly, Casey was sixth, just behind teammate Hannah MacLeod.
The REDS' Ella Lightheart was fourth in the women's 100m backstroke.
In the men's 4-by-100m medley relay, UNB's team of Nestoruk, Kingston, Bush and Ahmed Helal took third place.
A pair of dual meets are next on the AUS schedule, on January 14th.
UNB will visit Mount Allison while Dal will host Acadia.
The AUS Championships, hosted by the Memorial Sea-Hawks, take place February 10-12, 2023.
