REDS In Mix At Kemp-Fry Meet

(HALIFAX, NS) The first day of the 2022 Kemp-Fry Invitational Swim Meet, the third meet on the Atlantic University Sport swimming schedule, began Friday evening, in Halifax, with timed long distance finals, 800m freestyle relays and 50m butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke heats. 

UNB's Ethan Nestoruk swam second fastest in the men's 50m breaststroke prelims, while Hannah Casey was 5th in the preliminaries for the women's 50m butterfly. REDS teammate Hannah MacLeod was 7th, just 4/100ths back of Casey.

In the women's 4-by-200m freestyle relay, Casey teamed with Jessie Collett, Lauren Goodine and Elodie Martin for a 3rd place finish.

After the first day of competition, the Dalhousie Tigers lead both the men's and women's team results.

UNB is 4th in the women's standings and 5th in the men's.

Action resumes Saturday with morning heats and evening finals.
