(FREDERICTON, NB) Second year striker Jillian Larose (Ottawa, ON) scored three times to lead the UNB REDS in a 5-1 victory over the visiting Mount Allison Mounties, in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action, on Thursday evening.

Larose opened the scoring with a strong shot from inside the 18-yard box in the 28th minute before taking advantage of a miscue by Mounties' keeper Sophie Austin (Kanata, ON) in the 37th minute.

Larose, named Subway Player of the Game, added a goal in the 52nd minute, a strong finish on a nice crossing pass from teammate Julia Currie (Sydney, NS).

Allie Hughes-Goyette (Garibaldi Highlands, BC) added a pair of goals for the REDS, who improve to 2-2-2 on the season.

Isabelle Heber-Senecal (Hillsborough, NB) scored the Mounties' lone goal, in the 80th minute.

Mount Allison remains winless in 2022, with a record of 0-5-1.

The Mounties subbed out Austin for Kaitlyn Sutherland (Elmsdale, NS) at halftime, while the REDS sent Lauren Kelly (Fredericton, NB) in in relief of Brynn Nash (Saskatoon, SK) midway through the second half.

Up next for the REDS, a visit from the Acadia Axewomen, Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm.

The Mounties return home to host the Cape Breton Capers.
