(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS suffered their first loss in regulation time, Friday, dropping a 4-1 decision to cross-campus rivals, the St. Thomas Tommies.

The Tommies opened the scoring just 3:59 into the game and never really looked back.

Ekaterina Pelowich (Stouffville, ON) and Emma Wilson (Midhurst, ON) scored first period goals, and Jacey Dane (Aurora, ON) added another early in the second as the Tommies built a 3-0 lead.

UNB's Reagan Minor (Dunnville, ON) got the visiting REDS on the board at the 10:34 mark of the second, but St. Thomas restored its three-goal lead when Dane scored her second of the game at 16:39.

Caroline Pietroski (Etobicoke, ON) stopped 23 of the 24 shots she faced in the Tommies net, while Kendra Woodland (Kamloops, BC) stopped 23 of 27 shots for UNB.

With the loss, the REDS are now 5-1-0-1, while St. Thomas improves to 4-3-0-0.

The Tommies visit UPEI on Saturday. The REDS return home to host Mount Allison.
