(SYDNEY, NS) The Cape Breton Capers rallied from a 15 point first quarter deficit to beat the UNB Reds 79-74, UNB's first loss of the season.

The first half was a tale of two vastly different quarters.

The Reds got off to a fast start and opened up a 25-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Cape Breton returned the favour with a 30-11 second quarter, and took a 40-36 lead into half-time.

The second half was close from start to finish as the two teams traded buckets for most of the half.

The Capers were led by Monique Calliste (Toronto, ON) with 24 points and seven rebounds to earn Subway Player of the Game honours.

The Reds got strong efforts from Krystal Osburn (Nottawa, ON) and Ja'Yon Leak (Charlotte, NC), who both had 14 points.

Cape Breton is now 4-0, the only unbeaten team in Atlantic University Sport.

The Reds fall to 4-1.

The two teams conclude their weekend series on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
