(FREDERICTON, NB) The U SPORTS No. 9 ranked UNB Reds played to a 0-0 draw with the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks on Saturday.

The draw evens UNB's record at 1-1-1, while the Sea-Hawks are now 0-2-1.

It was a back-and-forth affair, with the Reds controlling much of the possession game, but with Memorial out-chancing the Reds.

Evan Barker (Winnipeg, MB) made seven saves in the UNB net, earning Subway Player of the Game honours, while Sea-Hawks keeper Dylan Crichton (Torbay, NL) made two.

On more than one occasion, Barker was forced to scramble to make saves.

In the 73rd minute, he stopped Memorial's Jacob Grant (St. John's, NL) on a breakaway, leaving Grant shaking his head over the missed opportunity.

"It's not the result we wanted," said Barker. "We just have to keep our heads up. We have to play again in 24 hours, so heads on for tomorrow."

Barker feels the Reds had chances, but Memorial played a good defensive game.

"They played a very disciplined, defensive game today. They were very organized and they sat back and we weren't able to break them down."

Sea-Hawks head coach Jake Stanford feels his team might've let two points get away.

"I thought we were a bit unlucky not to get the three points today," said Stanford. "I thought the UNB keeper made some quality saves there in the second half, we had that breakaway there and it was an outstanding save by him."

"We know UNB are a quality team and we needed to keep the game tight, but I thought our guys performed well," he said. "We had a few chances, they had some chances. I thought it was a pretty evenly played match, on both sides."

Memorial returns to action Sunday, visiting Moncton.

The Reds are back in action on Sunday too, playing host to the UPEI Panthers.

Game time is 3:15pm.

"We have to focus on getting those three points tomorrow. That's where everyone's head is at," said Barker.
