(FREDERICTON, NB) Ben Gorringe (Truro, NS) scored twice and Dan Walker (Fredericton, NB) added a goal and an assist to lead the UNB Reds in a 6-0 win over the visiting Memorial Sea Hawks, Saturday afternoon.

"We had to come out and give our best performance, because we knew they were going to do the same," said Walker, named the Subway Player of the Game.

Alex O'Brien (Charlottetown, PE), Joe Hamilton (Morecambe, UK), and Tristan Nkoghe (Sherbrooke, QC) also scored for the Reds.

Evan Barker (Winnipeg, MB) and Cameron Rae (Fredericton, NB), making his Reds debut, shared the clean sheet.

"We knew, coming in, that they'd struggled in certain areas, but we just had the mindset that we couldn't take them lightly," said Walker.

O'Brien began the onslaught when he headed home a corner kick in the 3rd minute.

Gorringe scored his first of the game in the 33rd minute, converting a beautiful cross from Walker.

Hamilton's goal came five minutes later and UNB took a 3-0 lead into half-time.

Nkoghe, Gorringe with his second, and Walker rounded out the scoring in the second half.

With the win, UNB is now 6-2-3, while the Sea Hawks see their record fall to 1-5-3.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last seven games.

"Everyone's in playoff mentality," said Walker. "So, every time we show up now, it just has to be with the mindset that we're leading into playoffs and we have to come out as strong as possible, in preparation for that."

The Sea Hawks went down a man in the second half when Fomba Fambulleh (St. John's, NL) was issued a red card after some jostling in front of the UNB net.

The Sea Hawks now travel to Moncton, where they'll face les Aigles Bleus on Sunday.

UNB plays their final Atlantic University Sport regular season game on Friday, when they host the Mount Allison Mounties in a 7:15pm start.
