(SACKVILLE, NB) The UNB Varsity Reds ended the 2016 AUS men's soccer regular season with a big 6-0 road win over the Mount Allison University Mounties, on Saturday.
UNB got off to a quick start when Marcus Lees(Barrie, ON) gave the visitors a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game.
Lees struck with his second goal of the game just 13 minutes later, giving the Varsity Reds a 2-0 lead they'd carry into half-time.
In the second half, UNB got two goals from Tom Pheulpin(San Antonio, TEX.), in the 47th and 49th minutes, and two goals from Yosua Niyonkuru(Ellerslie, PE), in the 56th and 89th minutes of play.
UNB will now host the 2016 Subway AUS Men's Soccer Championship, next weekend.
The Mounties will miss the playoffs.
