VReds Back In Win Column

(HALIFAX, NS) The UNB Varsity Reds snapped a three game losing streak Satuday, dropping the Dalhousie Tigers 5-1, at the Halifax Forum.

Despite outshooting the Tigers 11-4 in the first period, they couldn't beat Dal netminder Corbin Boes(Saskatoon, SK) and the period finished 0-0.

UNB came out strong in the second period, Cam Brace(Markham, ON) beating Boes one on one.

The Varsity Reds added a second goal, by Rob Mignardi(Richmond Hill, ON), less than five minutes in.

Then, with five minutes left in the period, Matt Petgrave(Brampton, ON) put the VReds up 3-0.

The third period started much like the second. UNB scored an early goal, Brace's second of the game. Taylor MacDougall(New Maryland, NB) rounded out UNB's scoring.

Daniel Walsh(Gloucester, ON) was the only Tiger to get on the board.

Brace was named the Subway player of the game.

The VReds are now 9-2-2 and face les Aigles Bleus, in Moncton, on Wednesday.
