(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE) It took the UNB Varsity Reds until the third period to break through UPEI goalie Matt Mahalak on Saturday night.
The VReds then took over, scoring a 4-2 over the Panthers, in front of 793 fans at MacLauchlan Arena.
After a scoreless opening period, it was the Panthers' Brent Andrews who hit the score sheet first.
UNB would tie it on a goal by Matt Petgrave before the Panthers moved ahead again. Marcus Power's goal sent the home team to the second intermission with the lead.
The VReds surged to life in the third on goals by Dylan Willick and Rob Mignardi.
Cameron Brace would add an empty-netter with five seconds to play to cap UNB's come from behind win.
Matt Boudens continued his explosive week with two assists while Etienne Marcoux made 20 saves for the win.
Mahalak made 44 saves in the loss.
The Varsity Reds return to action on Friday, when they visit Wolfille to take on the Acadia Axemen. Puck drop is at 7:00PM.
