(FREDERICTON, NB) Shooting guard Finn Larkin has been added to the UNB Reds men’s basketball team’s recruiting class of 2019.

The 6’5” Halifax, Nova Scotia, native plays both guard positions, and just completed his senior season at Halifax Grammar School, where the Gryphons went 13-1 in Metro (Halifax) High School League regular season play, and finished as runners up in both the Metro League and Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation’s Division 1 championships.

Larkin has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and will be joining the Reds beginning in the 2019-2020 Atlantic University Sport season.

“We’re fortunate to have Finn joining us for the upcoming season,” said Reds head coach Brent Baker. “He’s an honour roll student and has been part of a winning program at Halifax Grammar.”

Larkin averaged 10 points, six rebounds and four assists per game for the Gryphons.

Previously, he’s represented Nova Scotia on the province’s U14 and U16 developmental teams.

“At 6’5”, he has the versatility to play and defend a number of perimeter positions,” said Baker. “We feel Finn has a big upside moving forward.”

Larkin will study business while attending UNB.
