(WOLFVILLE, NS) The UNB Reds ended the Acadia Axemen's three game winning streak, scoring a 79-64 win, in Wolfville, on Friday night.

Tied 14-14 after one quarter, the Axemen lost their footing in the second, only putting up eight points in the second, while the Reds netted 24, led by Ibrahima Doumbouya (Calgary, AB), who shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point line. He added another bucket to give him 14 in the half.

The Reds shot well from behind the arc all game, as Tyrell Leotaud (Ajax, ON) put up a perfect 3-for-3, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. He was named a Subway Player of the Game.

Ahead 38-22 to begin the second half, the Reds responded after every Acadia basket, giving the hometown Axemen no chance at closing the gap.

UNB was up 64-45 after three quarters.

As the fourth started, three Reds scorers were in double digits while nobody had broken that threshold for the Axemen.

Chris Spurrell (Quispamsis, NB) was another influential player for the Reds, scoring 19 points and adding five rebounds.

The Axemen closed the margin by a few points in the fourth, but it was not enough to make a difference.

Trevon Grant (Nassau, BAH.) scored a team-high 12 points for the Axemen, while Ben Miller (Winnipeg, MB) led the Axemen with eight rebounds.

UNB continues their weekend road trip on Saturday, visiting Saint Mary's.

The Axemen hope to recover from this loss on a scheduled trip to Cape Breton on Sunday.
