(SYDNEY, NS) Ibrahima Doumbouya (Calgary, AB) put the UNB Reds ahead with 4:46 to play in the fourth quarter, and while it got close, the Reds hung on to beat the Cape Breton Capers 84-83 on Saturday.

Cape Breton surged into the lead with a strong third quarter, but were unable to hold. UNB came from down 12 after three quarters to earn the win.

Doumbouya and Chris Spurrell (Quispamsis, NB) each had 18 points to lead the Reds.

Daniel Levitt (Montreal, QC) also had a strong game, coming off the bench for with 16 points for UNB. 12 of Levitt's points came from behind the three-point line, earning him Subway Player of the Game honours.

The Capers were led by Osman Omar (Mississauga, ON), who scored 21 points.

With the win, UNB is now 4-2, while Cape Breton falls to 1-4.

The Capers host the Memorial Sea Hawks next Saturday, in an 8:00pm tip-off.

The Reds return home to host the UPEI Panthers next Saturday. That is also scheduled for an 8:00pm tip.
