The UNB Reds/Papa John’s Pizza male Athlete of the Week is Samuel Harvey, from the men’s hockey team.
The first-year Red earned the win on Saturday, his 7th of the season, as UNB split a pair of weekend road games.
Harvey stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced in the Reds 8-1 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies, and now leads the Atlantic conference with a 2.00 goals against average.
“Sam has continued to show steady improvement in all aspects of his game,” said Reds head coach Gardiner MacDougall. “He’s combined with Rylan Parenteau to give us exemplary work ethic and a competitive spirit to key the goaltending position.”
Harvey and the Reds see their next action on Sunday, December 29th, when they host the University of Windsor Lancers, in the annual Peterbilt Atlantic Pete Kelly Cup. Game time is 4:00pm.
UNB’s Atlantic University Sport regular season schedule resumes January 3rd, when they visit Dalhousie.
