The UNB Reds/Papa John’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week is Kendra Woodland, from the women’s hockey team.
The second-year netminder was a key contributor as the Reds split a pair of road games.
In Wednesday’s 2-1 loss at St. Thomas, Woodland stopped 29 of the 31 shots she faced and began the play that resulted in the Reds goal.
In Sunday’s 3-0 win at Mount Allison, she recorded the shut-out, making 32 saves.
“Kendra played a solid game on Wednesday, giving our team a chance to win all the way to the end,” said Reds head coach Sarah Hilworth. “On Sunday, she was impressive in earning the shut-out.”
Woodland and her Reds teammates are now into their December break. They resume their Atlantic University Sport schedule on January 10th, when they visit the Mounties again.
