The UNB Reds/Papa John’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week is Ashley Stratton, from the women’s hockey team.
The second year Kinesiology student was a force for the Reds as they won twice.
In Wednesday’s 4-3 win over Moncton, she scored a crucial goal.
On Saturday, in the Reds 4-1 win over Dal, Stratton scored a pair and added an assist to earn 1st star and Player of the Game honours.
“Ashley has had a great start to the season, and we’re seeing her become a power player in our league,” said Reds head coach Sarah Hilworth. “Her hard work is paying off and it is awesome to see her taking that next step in being a dominant center in the AUS.”
Stratton and her teammates go on the road for weekend games at Saint Mary’s and at St FX on Friday and Saturday.
