The UNB Reds/Papa John’s Pizza female athlete of the week is Lexie Shannon, of the women’s track and field team.
Shannon finished 7th in the women’s triple jump at the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, in Winnipeg.
“Lexie has had an impressive first season as a Red, and her performance at the U SPORTS Championships is a sign of things to come,” says Reds head coach Chris Belof. “Lexie’s work with our jumps coach and her teammates is paying off. We should continue to see improvements in the years ahead.”
